Hi - not necessarily a DIY question...;am looking for future DAC upgrade from Rega Apollo 35th (will use as transport initially). I like the sound of the Rega, I have a fairly revealing system (NC400+Ellam Flex), though looking principally for a deeper soundstage, ideally; a bit of warmth round the 100-200hz range, and nothing that pronounces 1-2k areas. If there is something a little older as an easy project that benefits from a cap change that could work - e.g. this guy raves about Musical Fid M1 YouTube as punching above its 'review weight', though its getting on a bit... anyone tried/heard? A friend of mine has an older Linn - sounds great, possibly pricey - though if that's what's needed....could try a kit if on the beginner side..
